Gent is very easy to reach: 1 hour from Brussels Airport by train, 2 hours from Paris by train, less than 3 hours from Amsterdam or London by train.

How to reach the conference location

Gent is connected with the airport and railway stations in Brussels by direct trains. From the Sint-Pietersstation in Gent, frequent trams or taxis take you to the city center (5 min).

By plane

By plane via Brussels International Airport

The airport has a train station on the lowest floor. There are a few direct trains to Gent-Sint-Pieters. There are frequent trains to Bruxelles-Midi (Brussel-Zuid) where you can take a direct train to Gent-Sint-Pieters. In total it will take you 56 minutes from the airport to Gent-Sint-Pieters.

By plane via Charleroi, Brussels South (Ryanair or other low cost airlines)

Take a city bus to Charleroi train station and then the train or take the airport bus to Bruxelles-Midi train station. From there, take the train to Gent-Sint-Pieters.

By plane via Amsterdam Schiphol airport

Take the train from Amsterdam to Antwerp and then to Ghent.

By plane via Paris Charles De Gaulle

Take the train from Paris to Brussels South and then to Ghent.

By train

By train from Paris, Koeln, London, you arrive in Bruxelles-Midi train station

Take the train to Gent from Bruxelles-Midi (Brussel-Zuid, Brussels-South). From there it is 30min by fast train (no intermediate stops) to the main station in Gent: Gent Sint-Pieters. The final destination of these trains are Oostende, De Panne, Knokke. Avoid slow trains that have Gent as final destination (60min).

By car

By car, Gent can be reached by the highways E40 or E17. Driving toward the center brings you to the Parking route (most of the center is free of cars). Follow the signs (P-route) to the parking P7 (Sint-Michiels). Address of P7: Sint-Michielsplein 8.

A convenient way to come to Ghent is to park your car at one of the Park & Rides and then take the public transport to the center. The P+R parkings are free and you are allowed to park your car for multiple days. Further info can be found on:
